My name is Emily Genovese, and I have been treating patients for over 20 years in Rochester and surrounding communities. Throughout my years working with individuals, couples, and families I have had the opportunity to practice in multiple clinic and community based settings before starting my private practice in 2017.
In 2003 I graduated from Nazareth College where I received my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy. As an art therapist I have been trained to work with people of all ages across a broad spectrum of practice. Guided by ethical standards and scope of practice, my education and supervised training prepared me for culturally proficient work with diverse populations in a variety of settings. Honoring individuals' values and beliefs, I work with people who are challenged with medical and mental health problems, as well as individuals seeking emotional, creative, and spiritual growth.
I specialize in working with individuals, but I also enjoy helping families. The number of families treated at any given time is limited due to the intensity and frequency of your individualized care. Whether its coping with anxiety or depression, increasing assertiveness and communication, working through family conflict, or processing trauma, I will help you achieve your personal goals. Sharing in life’s journeys with the individuals, families, and community is something I take pride in, and feel honored to be a part of.
